Lombok is the more affordable and quieter alternative to Bali, with untouched beaches and landscapes, volcanoes, waterfalls.

Bali

Known as 'Island of the Gods' Bali is aptly named. This is a land of outstanding natural beauty and friendly people who are proud of their ancient culture, spirituality and traditions. Hinduism is a key aspect of Balinese culture; elaborate religious ceremonies and spiritual music and dance can often be seen taking place. Offerings of colourful fresh petals that decorate the streets are a lovely unique aspect of the island.

To shop where the local’s shop, visit the Kebon Roek Market, located in Mataram City, in Ampenanwhich. The market brings the community together to sell vegetables, meats, tobacco, spices and other goods, providing fresh produce for a great price.

Visa: You must have a Visa to visit Indonesia. You can get a 30-day Visa on arrival (VOA). The VOA usually costs approximately 500,000 Indonesian Rupiah, payable in cash or by card. It is valid for single entry only. It’s mandatory to have a return or onward ticket and meet all passport validity requirements. 


Spoken Language: Indonesian is the official language


Tipping Culture: When it comes to tipping in Bali, it is not always expected or required. However, it is always appreciated when given. Tipping is a way to show gratitude for good service and hospitality. While it is not mandatory, it is a common practice in Bali’s tourism industry.
