Visa Requirements: To enter Sri Lanka, you must have a Visa prior to arriving in the country. This is via the Sri Lanka Electronic Travel Authorisation System. Tourist visas are normally valid for a maximum period of 30 days and now carry a fee.
Spoken Languages: Sinhala and Tamil are the official languages; English is widely spoken
Tipping Culture: The amount you tip in Sri Lanka will depend on where you are and what type of services you’re buying. As a rule, expect to tip around 10% of the bill. Drivers, guides, and hotel porters will also expect a tip.

The most visited attraction within bustling Kandy is the famed Buddhist Temple of the Tooth, said to be a piece of Buddha himself.
Surrounding Kandy are rolling tea plantations and mountainous forest hills that offer many walking and hiking opportunities.
