Currency: Cambodian Riel (KHR). Riel is a closed currency, which means it cannot be purchased in advance, you can only exchange it in Cambodia. 


Time Difference:  GMT +7 hours 


Estimated flight time: Approximately 15 hours (not including stopover time)


Visa: British Citizens need a Visa to visit Cambodia. This should be obtained well before you travel. You will also need a full British passport valid for at least six months from the date you arrive.


Spoken Language: Most people in Cambodia speak Khmer, the country’s official language, although you may also hear Lao and Vietnamese.


Tipping Culture: Tipping in Cambodia is not expected, however if you do receive good service, it will always be appreciated, particularly in poor areas where even small change can make a big difference to people’s lives.  Some upmarket hotels and restaurants are beginning to include a service charge of 7-10% of the bill.
